Saturday's Ride!!
Saturday morning I rode Daisy again down to my neighbor's to feed her dogs. Daisy did really good with letting me get on her to ride her and such. Then after I had fed the neighbor's dogs and such she didn't want to let me get on her...I figured maybe the sore hurt a bit. So I just got on her to ride back. On the way back something startled her so she jumped and it happened so fast I fell off. Hehe has been a while since I have fallen off of a horse. I wasn't hurt and she went back to the barn. So I am a tad sore :D Her sore is feeling better and I don't think it is as sore but I am going to wait to ride her for a bit!!

Some More Pics!
These are some more pics my dear friend did for me..I love them both :) I want to edit some of my friend's pictures I took yesterday of their horses!
First Ride on Daisy since she is Home!!
Daisy's sore is now leaking due to the scab coming off but thankfully she isn't very sore anymore just around the sore there she is. I decided to ride her bareback down to may neighbor to feed her dogs..not far..because she needed the exercise and I figured it wouldn't hurt her any. I rode her in my english bridle that I had for Navajo but I had to punch some holes in it to make it smaller :D Now it fits..hehe..petite girl! I am so happy with how she did. We just walked but she did really good!

Wednesday's Update!!
I went riding last night on Curly. I was at Sharon's house ;) He did really good for me and I enjoyed myself quite a bit. When we got back from our ride Sharon showed me how you start to teach a horse to lay down...VERY COOL and I plan to teach Daisy sometime. I also picked up the rest of my things that were at Sharon's. Then last night my cousins came over to my aunt and uncle where I work and we had a slumber (or slumberless) party..depending on how you look at it :D Quite enjoyable. Daisy is doing really good with her sore..I believe she is beginning to feel better :)

Update! :)
Here is a pictue my friend Lisa did for me :)
Daisy is doing good..I think she is beginning to feel better as far as the infection goes but her sore is obviously still sore..but I think with help it will go away soon!! No riding or anything of that sort obviously but she is really beginning to follow me around and want to be with me. That is very special to me. Tonight I am going to Sharon's to get some of the things that were left at her house when Daisy got moved home and also just to hang out!! Hope you all have a wonderful day. I probably will be able to get on tomorrow morning but no gaurantee :D Thanks Ruth Ann, Navajo and Daisy
p.s. Some of You asked about where the tumor might be on that horse Julio..it is by his (I think left) eye area but the good news is his nose discharge is pretty much nonexsistent and the bump is going down.

♥ Daisy ♥
Daisy is doing good..I am soaking her sore in epson salt with a rag and putting bag balm on it. It hurts her when I touch/press it but she is beginning to be ok with it and that has me really happy. I am thinking that with this sore and me taking care of her will bond us more than anything else. She was standing still as I soak her sore and put bag balm on it. Then after I left her go I was doing some thigns in her corral and she was staying right by me and sniffing what I was doing. I was so happy that she wants to be with me. I gave her her grain with her medication in it and she really likes that ;) What horse don't. She was out on the pasture for a couple hours today and she really liked that too!! I added some pictures of her! Enjoy!
p.s. I did as a few friends suggested and put corn oil in her grain :)
Daisy is HOME!!
I didn't get a ride in on Curly last night like I had planned..well actually my evening got changed around but that is ok. Sharon called me around 4 and said she has a problem. She asked if it would be ok if we switched Daisy and Curly around because Daisy has a sore on her withers and she needs antibotics but Sharon doesn't have more room to have Daisy and Blaze (one of the ponies they have right now) seperate to feed them both grain. (About Daisy's sore...we figure it is from the saddle because Daisy has high withers..we are going to get another thick pad and that should put the saddle high enough up so it won't bounce off the withers. We were very careful to make sure it didn't rub and such but what we were figuring is whenever we cantered it came down on Daisy's withers and caused the sore..The saddle fits perfectly otherwise. Sharon said the sore with the help of soaking it in epson salt and antibiotics it will go away within a week or two. She has had this happen already to her (Sharon has that is) and she said if you take care of it it isn't to serious). So anyway Daisy came home last night. I am not glad about the circumstances but I figure this way I would rather the sore appear and treat it than have it just fester that we can't see it and have Daisy sore and grouchy about that! I can't ride her for a little while but I figure I am going to do some groundwork and bonding time with her and also see about putting weight on her in that time! Will post pics later of her arrival!
p.s. Continue to pray for Julio the horse that might have a tumor!! No updates as of now!

Prayer Request!!
My dear friend's horse Julio might have a tumor, if everyone could just say a little prayer for Julio it would be GREATLY appreciated...I will update as I can!!
Saturday's Ride!!
Today I got to ride Curly for the first time in about a week and a half :D I rode for about 45 minutes and he did really good. He shied a few times at the one bridge that had yellow signs with stripes on them and a wagon by a barn. But other than that he didn't act dumb or anything. I was so pleased with him. Sorry this isn't long but I don't really do any new things with him so it usually is short..I can hardly wait to really start training Daisy :) Have a great weekend!

Friday's Ride!!
I got to ride Daisy tonight and she did really really well. Didn't have to hold her back much at all and she cantered nice and slow for me. The one cool thing was that I got to Sharon early so then I had some time to fix the saddle I bought from Sharon up with all the things I got for it! Daisy is filling out a bit now since we are feeding her grain. I want to work with her in the round pen with her some more next week..we shall see! Oh the other awesome thing was that she came up to me when I called her name and went into her corral to get her to ride. She turned the whole way around from the hay and walked a bit to meet me. I was so happy!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Riding and Free Lunging Daisy!
Tonight I did get to ride again :) I missed my girl Daisy :D We (Little Andrea and I) left Sharon's house with Sharon and went over to Little Andrea's house to treat her horse Sweet Pea for tetnus (if she is better by tomorrow she has a very good chance of living which is great after yesterday she only had a 20% chance..she did get vaccinated for tetnus before this but apparently didn't have a big enough dosage so that is why she has it). Anyway we got back from that and then headed out on the trails. I was having to hold Daisy back the whole time as she really really wanted to go but I didn't want her too as I am a bit nervous of her pinning her ears and kicking. She did pin her ears a few times and she did pin them the one time when we were going past a pastured horse :( She got a good wacking for that!! We are feeding her grain that is why I figure I had to hold her back. Once we got back Sharon went on a ride with a few other people (Moonlight Ride) and Andrea got in the round pen with Daisy. She lunged her a bit then I got in and lunged her some more. I got her to change directions both ways turned toward me. I was so proud and happy with her!! I want to do that again tomorrow night! I really didn't know how she would do so it was a pleasant surprise! Lookin forward to tomorrow night!

Sunday and Monday!!
Wow what a weekend :) As you know I was planning on going on a ride on Sunday afternoon. I did ride and I rode Daisy. We went up to Woodcrest and it takes about an hour to get there. We rode a bit when we got up there. Then we stopped for supper. I got off Daisy and got my food out of the saddlebags. One of the other people that were along came behind me and Daisy (which is fine) and I was about ready to lead Daisy away and she kicks at the other horse. I had my hands full and was trying to wack Daisy for kicking the other horse but I couldn't do it right (hindsight tells me I should have just dropped my food and wacked Daisy with the reins a good one) and Sharon goes and wacks her good. Kicking can kill someone. It is ok if it is just horses and such but when there are people with the horses that is a totally different matter. That is why we hit her. Anyway I kept a hold on Daisy and we let the horses eat grass while we ate. After we ate we got on the horses and headed home. Overall it was a wonderful ride. Daisy is one fast horse. She can really go and she is so smoot and great to ride!! I LOVED IT. She made me cross a few times though because when we would be behind the others she did canter nicely and steadily but if she felt like it she would trot. That didn't have me happy and I worked with her on it and she did pretty good. I am so glad I got to go on a long ride like that because it helped me gauge to see how she acts and such. She doesn't like other horses and we figure it is because the former owner let Daisy's baby on her for half a year without doing anythign with either the mom or the baby and so Daisy is used to fighting horses off which isn't good. Guess we shall see. Kicking isn't a good thing so it is something we need to work on!! Other than that she did great! Beauty got ridden by Sharon's husband Earl Dean. We figured it doesn't hurt her any to get used to other people riding her!
Then for today. I slept at Sharon's overnight and then this morning we went over to where Sharon works. Sharon works at a stable and she cleans out the stalls, gives the horses water and cleans the isles (it isn't a really fancy stable but it works). There were four of us doing the work counting Sharon and we got done in good time and then headed over to the auction to get some things. I got some stuff for my new saddle (buying a saddle from Sharon..it has a high back but I don't care..the saddle is really comfortable) and I am selling my other saddle to my cousins :) Then we went to a chinese restraunt and after that went to an old ladies house to play games with her. Overall it was a wonderful weekend!!

My Saturday!!
Wow I had a busy but very fun Saturday! I went to Sharon around 8:30 and we saddled up all her horses and loaded in the trailer. We were going to a fundraizer for this ladies family who had some medical bills they couldn't pay (it was something like that) and we were going to give horseback and wagon rides for the people there. It was awesome. It ran from like 11 to 4 or something. Anyway when we didn't have any customers some of us (there were like 6 of us who were giving the rides) we would hop on a horse and just ride it up and down the street :) Now I have ridden all of Sharon's horses all except Speedy (he was being used for the spring wagon). We got back to Sharon's place around 5 and by the time we had all the horses unsaddled and put two of them into harness to go out to eat it was like 6 or so. We went and ate came back and rode. I rode Beauty again. She did awesome and I didn't even need to take the crop along. She cantered steady for like the first time for a long distance. I was so proud of her. Today Sharon and Earl Dean and I and three others are all going up to Woodcrest (where I went on that three hour ride a while back) to eat supper and ride the trails for a while. I am planning on riding Daisy :) I am lookin forward to it!! Curly is doing good although I haven't had much of a chance to ride him lately because of work and everything going on :( Guess that is life sometimes! Have a good weekend!

New Shoes and Teeth Floating!!
I didn't ride Beauty today actually her owners did. I think both Beauty and them did well. She behaved better than she has for me sometimes which made me happy!! They rode her for a while (not sure how long) and then they had to leave. Sharon and I loaded Daisy and Beauty into the trailer and took them over to the farrier who also floats the horses teeth! They first did Daisy's hooves. Sharon and I both said we don't think her hooves were ever done before (never trimmed or shoed but her hooves were not in bad shape at all) so when Matt (the farrier) was shoeing her she was acting real dumb. And it wasn't a scared kind of dumb either..she tried to kick the farrier and was hopping all around..Not good at all. The farrier wacked her a good one for trying to kick him. I was like hey girl if you don't behave you will get disciplined for it!! Once the shoes were on they did her teeth..POOR GIRL her mouth was all cut up :(:(:( Her cheeks were a swollen and even cut a bit from her teeth. She wil be sore for a bit :( The farrier also gave her her dewormer :) So I hope between the dewormer and getting her teeth done she will get some weight on her!! Beauty did pretty good but she was hopping around and being dumb about everything but she did pretty good considering it was her first time! Her teeth weren't bad at all!
I added two pics of Daisy from Wednesday!

Wednesday's Ride!!
I rode Beauty again tonight and she did great. We started out at a walk and she behaved wonderfully then we cantered some and I went ahead and she acted like nothing new was happening. I worked with her some on neck reining as well and that went great too!! She is improving bit by bit and that has me really happy. She might get to go home soon. The whole ride she acted like any other horse I have ridden which has me really pleased!
I bought Daisy today and found out her DOB (February 23, 2004) which is so cool. Sharon told me that a guy she knows rode Daisy the whole route (over the creek and over the covered bridge and all around) and she did excellant and Sharon's husband also rode Daisy. So she is doing really good. I can hardly wait to start working with her on dressage and see how far I can get with her on that. That is going to have to wait a bit but I hope soon we can start!! I am so happy. Also got some nice pictures of her tonight and will probably post those either tomorrow night or Friday!

I AM BUYING DAISY!!
Some of you knew this already but most of you didn't but I am BUYING DAISY!! As you know she is an appaloosa/quarter horse cross, 6 years old mare and her name is Nix-Nux (means Naught) or Daisy (which is what I will call her). I rode her Friday night and she is really smooth and a really nice horse. I saw Bernell (a guy that Sharon knows) work her a bit in the round pen before he got on her and she is QUICK on her feet. She is a smaller horse but I really like her. Easy keeper too. Sharon owned her for a while but sold her because she wasn't going to be big. Sharon said she thinks it is a perfect match for me! I talked to my dad Friday night and he said I have to wait till today to know weather i can have her or not and HE SAID YES!! She is exactly what I wanted!. But she is the two breeds I like..she has a long mane and tail (hehe Sharon and I figured because she is part quarter horse that is the reason for that) and she isn't too huge. Anyway I will try to get a better picture of her later!
She is a good horse and the reason the lady is selling her is because she has too many horses (and I think she didn't say but I think she needs the money..hehe). The lady put Daisy at Sharon's so Daisy gets some riding on her. I don't think the lady rode her all that much so she is going to need some work but she is the type of horse if you tell her what to do and she gets stubborn or acts dumb and you tell her that she has no choice she gives in without getting angry like Beauty does =D Daisy is somewhat like Navajo in temperment wise =) I AM SO EXCITED :) Maybe you can tell :D
p.s. The reason I didn't say anything earlier was because I didn't know if I was getting her for sure :D

Monday's Ride!!
Got to ride Curly again today. I rode for about 20 minutes or so and most of the time was cantering. He didn't even try to buck one time! I was so very happy with him. I had an enjoyable time with him and I believe he had fun as well =) I sure am going to miss him when he goes home. Sorry I don't have more to write about. Tomorrow evening hopefully we will take family pictures if it doesn't rain. Guess we shall see!

Sunday's Ride!!
A tad blurry =D
My Fav one!
I asked my mom to take a few pics of me cantering Curly. He did really good and I put the ones that I like on here. I took my crop with me as you can maybe see in the pics and he didn't try to buck one single time. Not sure if he knew I would wack him or what but he didn't try anything =) I am going to ride him tomorrow and see if it is because I had the crop or if it is just because he is learning. I am so happy with him!

Friday's Ride!!
Nix-Nux or Daisy
this is what her white on her looks like! (a tad skinny from having a baby recently)
I didn't work with Beauty as planned because Sharon got another horse Thursday night that her friend Vicky wants someone to ride. She plans on selling her and she hasn't been ridden since last year so she is in need of work. Sharon wants me to ride her if I can find time =D I added two pics of her (one a close up so you can see the white) and the other one so you can see the who her. THe horses name is Nix-Nux or Daisy. She is a quarter horse/appaloosa mare and I really like her. One of the guys that him and his wife board at Sharon worked with Daisy in the round pen (he is an expert..he rides Sharon's Beauty barback and without a halter and jumps over the jumps in the meadow) first without the saddle and then with the saddle on her. Then he got on her and rode her and she didn't do anything. It was fun watching him ride her and I got to see her move and she is a quick little thing..She is also a nice mover =) Very smooth. So then I got on and we went out the field and back again. She did good. Daisy has the disposition of Navajo. I hope I get to ride her more in the future!! I am going again Wednesday so I hopefully get to ride her then.

Thursday Night's Ride!!
I got to ride Beauty last night again. I got home from work and Earl Dean (Sharon's husband) picked me and Curly up here at my place. We took Curly over to the farriers and went back to Sharon's ate some supper quick got Beauty, Sharon's Beauty (there are two Beauty's so that is how we keep it straight..we say my Beauty or Sharon's Beauty), Lightning, Speedy, Misty! Anyway some of those horses got shoes reset and such. My cousins had met us at Sharon (they are the one that own Beauty) and they had come over with us to the farrier's and also some of their friends Abigail and Sarah. Beauty did really good with the farrier. She didn't stand so good but she didn't even care about her new shoes. I am so happy with her! Once all the farriering and such was done we got on the horses and rode home. Beauty did pretty good but she didn't want to cross 322 so I got off of her and led her across. I asked her to turn a few times and she wanted to act stubborn but she did good over all. I am so happy with how she is doing though!! I am going over to ride her tonight so I guess we shall see how she does!

Sunday's Ride!!
I got to ride Curly today again!! We did mainly rode riding since the fields are still muddy from all the rain we had this past week and it looks like we might be getting some more this next week!! I took somewhat of a different route and it took about half an hour then I turned onto Wallops Hill Rd which I had ridden with Ebony one time before. Overall it took me an hour an 10 minutes but I had tons of fun. Curly was being a bit weird because at first he was fine with going the pace I set but then toward the end he was acting like a slow poke. That is usually how he does but overall he did good!!

Friday's Ride and SURPRISE...a Ride on Navajo too!!
I was working at my aunt till 3 or so yesterday and since my mom was there got to leave early. We came home and then I headed right out the door to go ride Navajo. Navajo's new owner Riley just broke his collar bone so he can't ride for like 4 weeks or something like that. So his mom e-mailed med and asked if I could or wanted to come ride Navajo. I said sure. So yesterday I got to ride him. He met me at the gate with his miniuture horse friend Duke (which unforantatly since I was dumb enough to forget the camera didn't get pictures of either Duke or Navajo). Duke was really friendly and so cute :-) Anyway I went and got the bridle and hopped on bareback. Since it is really muddy here after all the recent rain we have had I rode on the road. Navajo did really good and I sure have missed walking and trotting him bareback. I can tell I haven't done it in a while that is for sure..hehe! The one sign (a sign that says what kind of corn is in a field) really freaked him out. He had only seen one one time here and it was windy so I figured that was what his problem was. I got off and led him past but not before he got really excited about it. He was acting pretty crazy about it. But he did pretty good . I got on him and headed back. Overall it was so wonderful being able to ride him again. I am planning on going back sometime soon :-)
Once I was done riding Navajo I headed over to Sharon's place to saddle up Beauty and head for the trails. We didn't ride on the trails then because of it being really muddy and we would of had to do a lot of walking so we went on a longer road route and did mostly trotting (some walking but not very much). When we first started out Beauty kept wanting to be ahead and not behave so nicely. I told Sharon I wondered when she is going to act dumb in the saddle..it was just going way to smoothly (which is a good thing by the way but by the way Beauty acted on the ground I knew the time is going to come she is going to act bratty in the saddle sometime soon). Beauty remembered the neck reining that we had taught her and she fought a bit at first but I could tell the more I rode her the better she was getting although right before we turned into Sharon's driveway she acted a bit dumb again. Crazy stubborn hard headed horse. I am starting to be able to tell when she is honestly confused and when she is just being stubborn. She is quite the bullheaded horse because when she gets it into her head that she isn't going to listen it takes quite a bit of telling her what to do to get her to do it!! Overall it went really well with her and I am happy that she is improving slowly :-D Today I hope to ride Curly so I guess we shall see!!
